April 2, 2006 - Town Hall, Seattle

About the SFS Flute Choir:

Rehearsal Time and Location: The SFS Flute Choir meets from October through June of each year. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 7706 25th Ave NW, in the Ballard/Loyal Heights area of Seattle.

Fee: The twice-yearly fee of $30 is due in October and February (make checks payable to the Seattle Flute Society). All participants must be current SFS members.

The SFS Flute Choir is a positive and friendly group. The group's style is upbeat and encouraging, with an emphasis on skill-building. If you are rusty or haven't played in an ensemble recently (or ever!), this may be the ensemble for you—give us a try!

Join the SFS Flute Choir:

To join the SFS Flute Choir, please the Flute Choir Manager, Lisa Hirayama. There is no audition—all current SFS members are welcome. Intermediate and advanced level flutists will be comfortable with the difficulty of the repertoire. You are welcome to sit in with the ensemble for a week or two before joining. (Please  Kate Kralik in advance to let her know that you will be attending so that music can be ready for you.)

About our Director:

Kate Kralik  A native of Southern Oregon, Kate Kralik came to Bainbridge Island after finishing a Master’s degree in flute performance at the University of Arizona. While in Arizona, Kate was the resident flutist at the annual chamber music festival Music From Greer in Greer, Arizona, as well as the principal flutist of the University of Arizona Summer Arts Festival Orchestra.

In the Spring of 2007, Ms. Kralik became the director of the Seattle Flute Society Flute Choir. She has worked with the Bellevue Youth Symphony Flute Choir and is currently starting a new flute group with the Island Music Guild on Bainbridge Island.

Kate has appeared as a soloist with the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Peninsula Dance Company Orchestra and in Bainbridge Performing Arts’ Declassified Series.
