The SFS Flute Choir presents a program of classic repertoire and new arrangements, under the direction of Stephanie Kolokotroni Jones. The concert is free (and lasts about an hour), we’ll be playing some beautiful music, and we encourage you to attend.
There will be a post-concert reception with refreshments for all who attend, giving you an opportunity to talk to the choir director and our members, mingle with friends, and learn more about what playing in the SFS flute choir is all about.

As part of the program, a new arrangement of Max Heinrich’s The Raven will highlight the poem by Edgar Allan Poe of the same name. “The Raven” was published in 1845 and was notable for its rhythmic musicality, stylized language, and its dark setting. The Raven was immediately successful and continues to be one of the most famous and beloved poems ever written. The arranger of the piece the Flute Choir will perform is Elizabeth Jolly. In addition to playing with the Flute Choir, she is a versatile flutist and educator based in Kirkland, WA, and a wonderful arranger of flute choir music. She holds a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music Degrees in Flute Performance from the University of Redlands. Her arrangements can be found at www.elizabethjolly.com. Joining the choir for this new piece is local voice-over actor, Leslie Gallagher to present the spoken portion. Having played with the flute choir for many years, it will be wonderful to have Leslie back in this new capacity. While we hope you’ll enjoy all of our chosen repertoire, this piece should be a highlight of the Fall concert!
